In morning around 6:15 am me and Vibhati one of m college took Janata express fromm Ratlam . As had gennereal ticket to meghnagar and she had Railways Family pass so we choose to travel in sleeper apartment of Janata xpress.
Meghanar was next station to that train and approx 30 40 min journey .Other than our local conversations Vibhati told me brief about Jhabua tribals and their living and life styles. She was jeering at me by telling their stories
“ In ancient time, King outcausted these tribals and put extra Lagaan on them , so the tribesmen choose to loot passengers and tie and beat them in jungle , as they think its their own money and they taking it and also they wont take easy money so as labour they beat them off “
“ Also these tribals use ancient bows and arrow made of bamboos and they are flexible , light and sharp with iron casted head and generally attack passenger“
“Also they dance and enjoy to extreme in their marriages and wear tribal tradition Bandi ‘s and langot and dance with their weapons for whole nights “
She was actually scoffing me but hearing that I was actually exited to see those tribals and know about their traditional marriages .
We landed to meghnagar Station by 7 :30 am . The station was looking like normal Madhya Pradesh Railways station , small , slightlyt clean and quiet as was no rush due to morning time . Generally rush of updowners from meghnagar jjhabua dahod ratlam make station a aplace but generally being a small station very few trains halt there .

I have to withdarw some money so we asked a local person about ATM . Vibhati was damn clear about having No ATM in meghnagar but luckily we got one near station . One non uniformed guard was sitting and chitchatting with his friend . I tried ATM but there was some problem with machine , After telling guard shivakumar , I got to know that there was only ATM and that machine have some problem . He already acknowledged the local branch but they was no action yet .
About convence to jhabua we got two obvious option of Taxi and local bus .
Vibhati told me about a craftman from jhabua living in Meghnagar who makes handicraft work and exhibit . That guy went with her in her previous trip , and It seems a MUST to meet him , Mrs.NATWAR DHAKIA . After innumerous call she manage to call him and got appointment to meet him in his house . So we forwarded toward his house asking lanes and roads from local people . In the way I noticed many walls with Doctors advertisement regarding sex .
In these area there are many cases of O + and child marriages , all this is result of illiteracy in these areas and many NGO’s and Govt oraganizations are pretending to work in this field but hard luck nothing is happening . Vibhati reminded me a NGO were you can test your blood and they provide proper guidance .
Finally we reached Natwar’s place where Natwar and his wife greeted us . We gave a brief of our project , .Being busy in a marriage natwar manage to show his handicraft products which he sell . I got to know he was with Sahaj organization but now he is working alone and have 10 craftmen under him .
His major work are in Bead and bamboos work .
He showed us
- beautiful wall hangings
- , purses card holders
- and folder with tribal craft .

We did breakfast of local Poha chalebies and samosa ,
In between I saw local tribals in their dress normal shirt and Dhoti and women with their children wearing dark colored clothes and gagra and accent heavy jewelleries of Silver in their hand , legs and neck properly tattooed glancing me and vibhati as we were looking like some dumb tourist having bags and cameras .

I found some shops selling lumber . Also there were some shops selling tribal goods like Hukkas and glass balls . I specially like handmade only 10 rupees made of wood

I asked the process of making them . Its actually made of timberwood and shaped with hand drawn machines but very efficient . We reached Busstand and found 2 3 buses one out them was going to jhabua . Bus services of MP is like a part of tribal culture as they are main public transport used among villages but they need to get attention .
